KALPANA SADANANDAN is a Senior Legal Associate with the firm’s Real Estate Practice. Her areas of practice encompass a broad range of property-related matters. She acts for both corporate and individual vendors and purchasers in the sale, purchase, refinancing and leasing of residential, commercial and industrial properties. She also advises and structures transactions involving transfer of property by way of gift, decoupling and purchase of property via a Trust. This highly organised and meticulous associate acts for Landlords and Tenants in the preparation and review of Lease Agreements.

Kalpana acts for many of the local banks in Singapore as well as for the Singapore branches of several foreign banks in various financial transactions for Real Estate matters. To cite an example, she has acted for all the registered proprietors in a collective sale of Nanak Mansions comprising 36 units. During this transaction, Kalpana worked tirelessly with the managing agent and the registered proprietors steering the matter from the drafting stage of the tender document right through to the successful completion of the sale, much to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. We are indeed very privileged to have her on our team!

Not just active in the Real Estate segment, Kalpana also acts for banks in Trade Finance transactions. She has vast experience in the preparation and review of trade finance documentation and the corresponding security documentation, as well as the creation of charges.

Passionate about her work, Kalpana also possesses the International Compliance Association’s Advanced Certificate in Governance, Risk and Compliance (IBF Level 1). This qualification together with her interest in Anti-money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, have enabled her to provide sound advice and legal opinion to both local and Singapore branches of foreign banks on the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) laws, Regulations, Directives and Guidelines. She is familiar with the regulatory environment and compliance issues relating to banks and financial institutions.
