A THAMILSELVAN is another multi-faceted team member of Subra TT Law we are proud of. With a strong foundation in terms of his education and training – he holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) as well as a Diploma in Education from National University of Singapore – he went on to attain his Law Degree (Honours) from the University of London and was called to the English Bar at Gray’s Inn in 1987.

His experience as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore is underpinned by more than 28 years of success as an exceptional litigator, having appeared before the Court of Appeal on several occasions and represents clients in Court in relation to the various areas of practice.  His forte lies in the following areas; insurance, family, company, wills trusts and estate, criminal, construction, accident and dispute resolution.

Thamilselvan established himself as a force to reckon with his invaluable skill and ability to work under pressure when he took on a landmark case with client’s instructions at the eleventh hour. In view of the urgency, he prioritised and gave full attention to our client and successfully negotiated a huge reduction for payment by the client, a contractor, from a whopping S$518,000 to just $20,000 under the Building and Construction Security for Payment Act (Cap 30B, 2006 Rev Ed). Needless to say, this was a commendable feat by any standard and his quick thinking on feet and strong analytical abilities placed the firm in a class of its own, paving the path for handling many such matters over the years, with similar success.

At the firm, Thamilselvan lends his advice to a broad range of matters including shareholder disputes and prepares various agreements supporting individuals and businesses. He is also sought after by Landlords and Tenants (individuals and corporates) and real estate sellers and buyers on advise relating to rights, duties and liabilities of parties on the sale and purchase of properties.

Over the years, Thamilselvan has undoubtedly accumulated a wealth of experience in this field and continues to make outstanding contributions to our firm and to the clients whose cases he handles.
